Dear Family and Friends:
I like dogs. To be honest, I like all animals. When I was looking for a volunteer "gig" after I retired, I was drawn to the Wisconsin Humane Society. This incredible organization has opened up a real opportunity for me to not only be involved hands-on to help companion animals, but to evolve into an advocate for them. When I held a puppy mill victim in my arms for the first time, I knew I had found my calling. I am proud to say that in 2016, my husband and I were able to adopt a rescued puppy mill mom named BettyBoo! Until you have experienced first hand the wonderful work the WHS does, until you see the amazing transformations that happen to the animals that enter this facility, it is hard to comprehend. All of this happens without government funding, but through donations. As a result, the animals that pass through our doors depend upon the generosity of people like YOU. Please join me in making sure that no dog, cat, rabbit, bird, or pocket pet has to be turned away...and that all adoptable animals continue have as long as it takes to find their forever home.
