Andis Company Gives Back

Andis2.jpgWHS is grateful to our community partners, businesses who give generously of their time, talents, and financial contributions to help animals.  One outstanding partner, Andis Company, has recently contributed in many ways to help our Racine shelter and further our Unleash the Potential campaign to build a new shelter in Racine County.  Andis is a multi-generational family business based in Sturtevant that is a leading provider of hair products, including grooming and clipping tools for humans and animals.  When we first met with representatives from their team to discuss the vision for a new shelter, the Andis team immediately recognized the many ways our two organizations can work together to better serve animals.

Andis Company's Foundation made an initial contribution to the capital campaign, reserving the first Dog Lodging Hall in the new shelter to name in honor of their company's commitment to animal wellness and improved sheltering in Racine County.  Andis also made generous in-kind contributions of clippers and blades, which our Certified Vet Techs use at all of our shelter locations to prepare animals for their spay/neuter surgeries.  And recently, having seen the outdated and difficult-to-use bathing tub in our current Racine shelter, Andis Company replaced it with a new stainless steel tub that is easily accessible for large dogs, and which will be easily transferred to the grooming room in our new shelter.  Thank you, Andis Company and Andis Foundation, for your outstanding partnership and commitment to help animals in Racine!

We have stationed our Ambassadog and Ambassacat banks at Plumb Gold Jewelers and the Red Onion Café, so if you plan to buy the perfect Mother’s Day piece of jewelry, or grab a delicious bite to eat, please consider dropping a donation into the banks.  With help from the community, we will Unleash the Potential for Racine.
