Welcome To Linda's "Adopt! Don't Shop!" Page
Welcome to my 2019 walk page! It's a new year, and I have exciting news! First of all, this year's Tails on the Trail walk is now called Pet Walk MKE. Why? Because the Wisconsin Humane Society has grown! With the addition of Door and Brown Counties to the WHS family, we now have FIVE shelters in five counties! This also means we have TWO walks--one in Milwaukee and one in Green Bay. Hurray! Second, my own family has grown. Last year I walked in honor of not only all the animals who needed help from a shelter like the WHS, but also for our beautiful, amazing, rescued puppy mill survivor, BettyBoo, who crossed the Bridge in January 2018. She was the perfect ambassador to prove that a dog who had experienced the worst a human could give would be able to blossom and thrive given a chance. Her capacity to give to us far eclipsed what we could have ever hoped to give to her. This year, I will also be walking in honor of our newly adopted rescue dog, Sadie!! My so-far 10 year career at the WHS started out helping give baths to the over 1,600 dogs we saved from a Wisconsin puppy mill. Sadie and BettyBoo are the personification of all the dogs who lives have touched mine in ways that mere words could never describe. If you are able to give even $1.00, it will make a difference; for the animals in our care now, for those whose journey to a forever home will bring them through our doors, in memory of BettyBoo. and in honor of Sadie. Because of the training I received at the Wisconsin Humane Society, I didn't hesitate to say YES when Jacks Galore Russell Rescue asked--now twice--"Would you like to adopt this dog?".
I thank each and every one of you for your support. I know that BettyBoo and Sadie would thank you as well.
For the animals,
