Welcome To Linda's "Adopt! Don't Shop!" Page
Dear Family and Friends:
This year's Tails on the Trail walk has even more meaning for me. For the past two years, I walked in honor of not only all the animals that needed help from the WHS, but also for our beautiful, amazing, rescued puppy mill survivor, BettyBoo. She was the perfect ambassador to prove that a dog who experienced the worst a human could give could blossom and thrive given a chance. Her capacity to give to us far eclipsed what we could have ever hoped to give to her. Sadly, BettyBoo crossed the Bridge this year, and it is in her memory that I take to the trail in June. My (so-far) 9 year career at the WHS started out helping give baths to the over 1,600 dogs we saved from a Wisconsin puppy mill. BettyBoo was the personification of all the WHS dogs whose lives have touched mine in ways that mere words could never describe. If you are able to give even $1.00, it will make a difference; for the animals in our care now, for those whose journey to a forever home will bring them through our doors, and in memory of BettyBoo. Because of the training I received at the Wisconsin Humane Society, I didn't hesitate to say YES when Jacks Galore Russell Rescue asked, "Would you like to adopt this dog?".
I thank each and every one of you for your support. I know that BettyBoo would as well.
For the animals,
