Valentine’s Day is about love.  At the Wisconsin Humane Society, we think about love every day.  It is hard to see the harsh circumstances that animals face, yet each animal we help reminds us of the important work we do.  We save lives – just like little Tiger.

Our hearts broke when we saw Tiger arrive. The tiny Boxer pup quivered in pain as his big eyes looked to us for help.  Our veterinary team got to work right away and quickly determined that poor Tiger had a broken leg.  They gave him medicine to help with the swelling and pain and when Tiger was stable, his leg was splinted so it could safely heal. He went into a foster home, where he grew stronger every day. 

Just like we do for so many animals, we found Tiger a wonderful new home where his special needs will be met. And his future will be so full of love.  

Although we had the capacity to mend Tiger’s broken leg and find him a new home, we know that there are many more animals who need us. With Valentine’s Day upon us, we hope you will open up your heart to help special animals like Tiger.
