Hooray for Oreo, who has been adopted by Matt Kelly of Milwaukee. Oreo is a very welcome addition to the family and looks forward to a healthy, happy future.

Congratulations, Matt!

UPDATE: Oreo is doing great. His splint has been removed and he is now recovering in a foster home, where he gets a lot of love and great care.  Thank you to everyone who has donated for Oreo. We are getting closer to our goal every day!

nullA Tough Break for Oreo

Oreo is full of kisses and pure puppy energy. But when he arrived at WHS, he had fallen on hard times. Oreo was suffering from a broken leg after taking an accidental tumble down the stairs. The darling Australian Cattle Dog puppy was struggling to put his best foot forward.

Oreo’s front left leg was fractured and needed immediate medical attention from the Wisconsin Humane Society veterinary staff. After giving him pain medication, we treated his leg injury and made sure he saw an orthopedic specialist at WVRC in Waukesha. Now recovering in the WHS veterinary clinic, Oreo's future is looking brighter every day.

We were only able to help Oreo because of donations from people like you. We do not receive government funding and depend on the community’s support to fund all of our lifesaving initiatives, including the care provided to Oreo. The cost of his medical care is expected to reach $2,500.
