Will you help sweet Josie?
Josie is a bundle of energy and sweetness who makes fast
friends with everyone she meets. With her wagging tail and smiling eyes,
you would hardly know the ordeal she’s been through.
A kind passerby saw the 5-month-old puppy hobbling along all
alone on the side of the road. Her leg dangled as she struggled to put
weight on her little white paw. Thankfully, the man brought her to the
Wisconsin Humane Society. Our veterinarian quickly discovered why the
poor girl was limping. She had a severely fractured leg that would
require amputation. And as if that wasn’t enough, it appeared that she
was deaf too.
Today Josie is recovering from her surgery surrounded by the
loving care of our staff and volunteers. They’re also teaching special
hand cues that will help her to communicate with her new family. Josie
will need some time to fully recover, but when she’s ready, she’ll be placed in
our adoption program where we’ll help her find her forever family.
Josie's medical care will exceed $1,500. Will you
make a gift to help support her care?
