UPDATE! Ruby's surgery went very well and she delighted her foster family as she recovered. This past weekend, Ruby graduated into our adoption program and was swiftly scooped up by an incredibly nice family from Marshfield! Thank you to everyone who helped give Ruby a second chance at a happy, healthy life.

A loving gift for your special Valentine will touch more than just one heart...
Ruby’s heart is broken. Yet, we know we can help her, and we will.
She was just a baby when she arrived at the Wisconsin Humane Society. Ruby traveled from a shelter that didn’t have room for her. The Border Collie/Labrador Retriever puppy was so adorable, we were sure she’d find a family in no time.
However, we didn’t anticipate the irregularity in Ruby’s heartbeat. Our veterinarians discovered that Ruby had a heart murmur caused by a heart valve that normally disappears before birth.
At her tender age, Ruby needed heart surgery to prevent a lifetime of heart trouble. While the surgery is expensive, we can’t turn our backs on helpless animals like Ruby. She needs us.
We provide second chances to so many animals, but we couldn’t do it without the support of generous people like you. With your help, we can continue to save lives and provide programs for children and adults that will prevent suffering and build a more compassionate community.
With Valentine’s Day upon us, we hope you will find it in your heart to help Ruby.
Your contribution of $10, $25 or even $50 will go directly to Ruby's medical care. You can also sponsor Ruby in honor of a loved one and send a personalized ecard with her photo. Your gift will touch more than just one heart; what better way to celebrate love this Valentine’s Day? |
