Saving lives, one dog at a time.

In an unprecedented move locally and nationally, the Wisconsin Humane Society has purchased the assets of Puppy Haven Kennel in Green Lake County, located about 20 miles northwest of Waupun. As we continue to bring the dogs to WHS, we find that these dogs have extraordinary needs. In addition to their socialization needs, we're finding that many dogs have additional medical problems, from skin conditions and dental disease to larger medical issues that require specialized surgery. Because of this, the cost of caring for the Puppy Haven dogs is extensive.

Picasso, a sweet Pug who spent his first three years at Puppy Haven, came to us with a badly infected eye. Today, Picasso is recovering in our intensive care ward after having his eye surgically removed. He's getting better every day!

Mattie, an energetic Cocker Spaniel puppy, has kneecaps that constantly slip out of place, a condition that will worsen without specialized surgery. Mattie loves to play outside, but in order for him to have a healthy future, he must have corrective surgery.

Tucker was rescued from Puppy Haven with a terrible neck wound, a result of being attacked by other dogs. Due to the cramped housing and little human contact, fights were once common at Puppy Haven.

Little two-pound Pinky, a baby Pomeranian, required weeks in a foster home to clear up her pneumonia and get her on a healthy track before being adopted. She is absolutley adorable and was recently adopted into a loving home.

Instead of living in a breeding facility for the rest of their lives, these dogs will find loving homes, thanks to generous donations to the Wisconsin Humane Society. But we still need your help. The Wisconsin Humane Society relies entirely upon donations to fund all our initiatives and we couldn't save these animals without your support.

Would you like to help dogs like Picasso, Mattie, Tucker or Pinky with a donation? Your contribution of $25, $50 or even $100 will go directly to the care of the 1,200 dogs being received by the Wisconsin Humane Society from Puppy Haven Kennels. Sponsor a Puppy Haven dog in honor of a loved one and send a personalized ecard with a photo of one of the precious dogs who are being helped to let them know.

Help end the suffering of puppy mill victims by contacting your legislators and asking them to support legislation and funding to license breeders, kennels and animal shelters in Wisconsin.
