Help Katy on her road to recovery 

When WHS staff first approached Katy in the Intensive Care Unit of WHS, they were welcomed by the thump-thump of her tail and the gentle gaze of her kind eyes. Despite the pain she was feeling, the five-year-old Beagle mix still managed to lovingly greet each and every one of her visitors.

After receiving a full examination, our veterinary staff determined that Katy had a medical condition called “luxating patellas” that caused her kneecaps to pop out of place when she walked.  And if that wasn’t enough, the poor girl also had three large benign masses under her skin.  We immediately performed surgery to correct both painful conditions.   

Today Katy is recovering in the loving care of a WHS foster home.  And when she is ready to move to our adoption floor, she’ll have as long as she needs to find a great family.

We were only able to help Katy because of donations from people like you. We do not receive government funding and depend on the community’s support to fund all of our lifesaving initiatives, including the care provided to Katy.
