[object Object]Buster Recovers After Being Hit by Car

Have you ever seen a puppy's tail rotate like a propellor?  That's what Buster is like - he grins from ear-to-ear and shakes with excitement when you approach him in the Intensive Care Unit at WHS. But we're making sure he gets lots of cage rest, after all he's been through.

Buster was picked up by the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC), who found the little guy running the streets after likely being struck by a car. MADACC took him to the Milwaukee Emergency Center for Animals (MECA), where it was determined that the three-month-old Cairn Terrier so severely fractured his femur that specialized surgery was necessary to save his leg. So MADACC and MECA reached out to the Wisconsin Humane Society to see if we could take Buster into our adoption program, and take on his medical costs and recovery.

We were happy to help, and Buster is even happier to be on the road to recovery.  It's only been a couple of days since his surgery, but Buster is already recovering like a champ in the safety of the WHS veterinary clinic.  After he is fully healed, he will move into our regular adoption program and start life anew with a loving family.

We were only able to help Buster because of donations from people like you. WHS does not receive government funding and depend on the community’s support to fund all of our lifesaving initiatives, including the care provided to Buster.  The cost of his surgery and medical care will reach  $2,500.

Will you give $10, $25 or even $50 to help us care for Buster? Donate now. You can also sponsor Buster in honor of someone and send a personalized ecard with his photo.
