Teen Dog Walk Night

The Wisconsin Humane Society Ozaukee Campus is offering a new activity night for teens between the ages of thirteen through eighteen who love dogs! Teen Dog Walks contain two hours of fun including education about animal safety, understanding the basics of canine body language, proper leashing techniques, and walking adoptable pooches accompanied by veteran volunteers. Did we forget to mention, pizza is included?!

What does the fun include?

Join in the fun with fellow teen animal lovers! Expect to spend the first half of the night enjoying pizza, followed by valuable educational information that ensure consistent and safe walks for both you and the dogs.  Before you know it, you are becoming an expert and it is time to put your newly-gained knowledge into practice! During the last hour, your experienced dog-walking partner will lead you in teaching the dogs skills that enhance interactions with people, provide social interaction and offer consistency. You will also learn how to:

  • Positively reinforce dogs for desired behaviors
  • Provide dogs with daily enrichment through physical exercise 
  • Enjoy one hour of one-on-one interaction with adoptable dogs!
  • Give each dog the gift of companionship
  • Treat all animals with respect and kindness
  • Become an Ambassador of Compassion for all animals in your community

This is sure to be a pawsitively fun night for dog enthusiasts!
