Level II Manners Class - MKE
Milwaukee Campus

Thank you for your interest in Level II Manners Class at the Wisconsin Humane Society - Milwaukee Campus located at 4500 W. Wisconsin Avenue.

This is a six-week class that meets once a week for six consecutive weeks. Each class is one hour in length.

This class is an exciting opportunity for you and your dog to polish basic skills and develop new ones in a fun and rewarding atmosphere.

We will build from the foundation skills your dog already has and challenge him with distractions and real life situations:
• Sit/Stays and Down/Stays with distractions like toys, people, and dogs
• Coming when called, even with distractions present
• Polishing loose leash walking skills

Our classes use reward based training techniques - using a clicker and rewards for training success! We will teach you training and management skills that allow you to successfully work with your dog in new environments. You will leave class with the ability to get the response you need in many different situations, not just at home.
This class focuses on fine-tuning skills and weekly homework is given.  Please plan on practicing with your dog 20-30 minutes a day to hone the skills and set your dog up for success.  Students are presented with an environment that is both fun and challenging without ever once forgetting that, for dogs to want to learn, they have to enjoy it!

Required Prerequisites:
• Handler and dog must have successfully attended a Basic Obedience/Manners Class; does not have to be from the Wisconsin Humane Society
• Dogs must know ‘Sit’ and ‘Down’ on verbal cue and/or hand signal
• Dogs should be able to ‘Sit/Stay’ and ‘Down/Stay’ for 30 seconds in an area without distractions
• Dogs should be able to reliably ‘Come’ on cue in an area without distractions

Social dogs only, please!! Dogs that have shown any prior aggression to other dogs or people are NOT allowed in the group class setting under any circumstances (including if you already paid for the class). Aggression cannot be addressed in this venue; you will not get the attention you deserve and it puts others at risk. Please call us for private training to get the best behavior treatment for your companion either in your home or privately at this facility.

VACCINATIONS: All dogs need to be current on Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccines before the first class. Be sure to bring your dog's vaccination records with you to the first class! Please check your records because even if you adopted from us, you may not have all the vaccinations needed for class. Dogs will not be able to participate in class without proper vaccination records.

Class is limited to 8 dogs and there is a trainer and assistant in class with a ratio of 1 to 4 for personalized attention. Dogs come with you to the first day of class!
Classes meet for 50 minutes every week on the same day and time for 6 consecutive weeks. Enrollment fee: $130 (shelter or rescue adopted dogs) and $150 (non-adopted dogs). Tickets are "per dog" not "per person".

*ALL PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE*
If you decide not to attend the class date in which you are registered your payment will be used for the animals in our non-profit facility. If you are uncertain whether our classes will meet your expectations, you are welcome to sit in on a class (without your dog) before you pay. Just give us a call!
