Welcome to the Wisconsin Humane Society's Wildlife Rehabilitation Center's 2008 Avian Odyssey Website! WHS's Wildlife Rehabilitation Hospital has developed a premiere bird watching event. Birders of all types can pick one day in May where they attempt to find as many species of birds as possible and submit their list to WHS for the opportunity to win fabulous prizes. Participants can also create their own personal "Odyssey" webpage that they can update with information on their Avian Odyssey, send email to friends and family asking for sponsorship and upload photos. Click on the links to the right to sign up!

Every year, the Wisconsin Humane Society Wildlife Rehabilitation Center cares for more than 5,000 wildlife animals, of whom 2,500 are injured, sick or orphaned wild birds. From American Robins to Bald Eagles, each bird admitted to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Hospital is treated with expert care. It is because of the generous donations received that we are able to carry out our vital mission to save Milwaukee's wildlife. Since the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center opened in 1982, more than 135,000 wild animals, including 230 different species of birds have been admitted to its care. The Wisconsin Humane Society Wildlife Rehabilitation Center also provides wildlife education and products to prevent conflicts with wildlife. Wisconsin Night Guardians for Songbirds was started by WHS to make our cityscape safe for migrating birds.

We have several exciting contests for all levels of birders. Prizes will be awarded to the individual who finds the most species of birds in their registration type. To be eligible for prizes, birders must collect a minimum of $100. To help raise the most funds possible for the Wisconsin Humane Society Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, prizes will be awarded to the individual who collects the most donations. Learn more about our contest by reading the 2008 Avian Odyssey Rules.

Sponsorships are available at several levels for the 2008 Avian Odyssey. Sponsors of the Avian Odyssey will appear on every page of the 2008 Avian Odyssey website, including the greeting page, individual participant pages, team pages, donation pages and registration pages. There are several additional advantages to being an Avian Odyssey Sponsor.
